Renault will launch the Duster SUV in India by the end of 2012. The company plans to enter a new segment with the 5-seater Duster, which they plan to price between Rs. 7-9 lakhs. The Duster will be available in both 2WD and 4WD variants and will be manufactured at Oragadam in Chennai. The Duster will be powered by the same 1.5 liter dCI diesel engine which powers the Nissan Micra but in a different set of tune to cater to the extra weight. The Duster will compete with the Tata Safari Merlin and the new Chevrolet Tavera when it goes on sale next year.
