Harley-Davidson LiveWire Production Suspended

The American bike maker has suspended production and delivery of LiveWire due to some issues in charging.

Harley-Davidson has halted the production of their first electric bike LiveWire. The American bike maker has discovered a non-standard condition in the final quality check. They are facing some issues with the battery charging and hence has suspended the production as well as delivery of the electric bike.

Additional testing to diagnose and rectify the issue has begun but there is no word from the manufacturer as to when the the production will resume. The existing customers are assured that they can continue to ride their bikes. Harley-Davidson hasn’t recalled any LiveWire yet.

The LiveWire was introduced by Harley-Davidson targeting younger audience. It comes with a 15.5 kWh battery pack and a claimed range of 235 km on a full charge. The electric powertrain produces 103 PS of power and 116 Nm of torque. 0-100 km/hr comes up in 3 seconds.

Harley-Davidson was expected to introduce the LiveWire in India in 2020 but now with the production suspended, we believe it’ll get further delayed.
