Maruti To Launch 2 Cylinder Alto

Maruti Suzuki plans to launch a stripped down variant of the Alto priced around Rs. 2 lakh. The new model will bridge the gap between Nano and the current Alto. The company has already started sourcing parts for an engine (2-cylinder unit) for the new Alto (codenamed YP3). The new engine will help Maruti lower prices significantly. The car will be launched by the second half of 2011.
