Royal Enfield Twin-Cylinder Bike Isn’t A 750cc, Launch In 2018

Royal Enfield’s next motorcycle launch is a twin-cylinder machine which won’t go on sale in 2017.

You read it first on MotorBeam. The long awaited Royal Enfield twin-cylinder motorcycle has been spotted many times in the past few days and although many are expecting the bike to go on sale this year, the launch will only happen next year, with an unveil likely around the Auto Expo.

MotorBeam has also learnt that the upcoming Royal Enfield twin-cylinder motorcycle doesnt dispace 750cc as reported since its first spotting in Spain earlier this year. It is actually powered by a smaller engine of 500cc or whereabouts, using a parallel-twin layout with air and oil cooling.

The Royal Enfield twin-cylinder motorbike could replace the Continental GT 535, as the current flagship from the British brand’s stable isn’t doing well in sales in India while in global markets, buyers have asked for more performance.

Needless to say, the upcoming twin-cylinder bike from Royal Enfield isn’t aimed at the Indian market but has been developed for mature markets where people love cafe racers and the company aims to establish itself there and become the world’s largest producer of middle-weight motorcycles.

The British brand will be manufacturing the twin-cylinder engined Continental GT at its Chennai plant with sales set to commence in the UK first, followed by India and other countries.
