Suzuki V-Strom 250 Unveiled At 2016 EICMA

The Suzuki V-Strom 250 carries the same design language of V-Strom 650 and 1000, the cycle parts are shared by GSX-R250.

Suzuki has unveiled its entry-level adventure motorcycle, the V-Strom 250, at the 2016 EICMA in Milan, Italy. This new entrant joins the 2017 line-up of Suzuki in the quarter-litre segment. Though cosmetically, it looks like a real adventure motorcycle, the sharing of its parts from the newly introduced GSX-R250 by Suzuki makes it unlikely to be a complete off-roading machine.

The design language surely follows the trend of its bigger siblings, the V-Strom 650 and 1000. Both the new quarter-litre motorcycles from the Japanese bike maker are based on the Suzuki Inazuma 250, which had got discontinued after a year of its launch in the Indian market.

The large visor and the yellow beak absolutely give the adventure touring appeal to the bike. The upward positioned handle bars and the apparently comfortable seat assembly would make long rides a comfortable task. The large rail at the rear-end and the optional panniers provide extra room for carrying huge luggage. Moreover, it has got a 12V charging socket for your electronic devices preventing them from getting drained on long trips.

Same as its sibling, the Suzuki V-Strom 250 has been powered by a 248cc parallel-twin engine which is good for producing 25 HP of power at 8000 RPM and peak torque of 23.4 Nm at 6500 RPM. Regarding the fuel efficiency, the company has claimed that it would go approximately 480 kms on a full tank which has a capacity of 17-litres. The saddle height of 788 mm makes it easy to swing over the leg, irrespective of the height of the rider and the weight of the bike is 190 kgs (wet).
