Top 20 Selling Bikes In October 2015, Activa Overtakes Splendor
Sales of two-wheelers seem to have taken interesting ups and downs this month looking at the numbers of the top 20 selling bikes in India in October 2015.
The Indian two-wheeler market has been taking a lot of turns and sales seem to be increasing as well as decreasing for different products. The fight between the Hero Splendor and Honda Activa keeps getting intense though. Last time the Splendor was leading but this time the Activa has come out on the top with marginally more sales than the former. The Hero HF Deluxe as well as the Hero Passion have also switched their positions this month.
The Honda CB Shine continues its stride at the fifth position but its sales have increased by a huge margin and that could be due to the festive season. The Bajaj CT 100 has also retained its position and its sales have also increased quite a bit. The Hero Maestro also hasn’t changed its position but we see that its sales have dwindled very significantly. The TVS XL Super, which was nowhere in the list during the previous month has now settled at the 8th positon, highly likely due to the introduction of the new Super 100 variant.
Sales of the Hero Glamour have increased relatively but its position has fallen by one rank. The story is similar with the TVS Jupiter too who’s sales have increased but its position has fallen in the list. The Bajaj Pulsar has, however, fallen in both sales as well as rank. The Honda Dream is another such bike who’s sales have drastically taken a hit!
Moving to the Bajaj Platina, well the bike has fallen by one position but its sales have remained more or less the same. The TVS Star City has succeeded in maintaining its position at the 14th spot while sales have increased by 5000-odd units. Another bike from the TVS stable, the Apache, has gained one rank thanks to a small hike in sales. These numbers also include the RTR 180. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 has fallen from 15th to 17th position but its sales have increased, albeit marginally. Apart from these, numbers of the Bajaj Discover and Yamaha FZ (including Fazer) have increased.
