Toyota India has closed the booking of the Fortuner for the next seven months. The Toyota Fortuner has been a massive hit and has surpassed Toyota’s expectations with 5000 orders in less than two weeks. The demand for the Fortuner has created backlog of customers willing to buy it. Currently dealers are just registering the names of interested clients whereas Toyota is revving up production to meet the growing demand.

Toyota India has asked the dealers not to take further orders from customers for the next seven months. Toyota has a capacity to assemble 550 Fortuners per month and are working to touch the 600 mark shortly. Toyota launched the Fortuner globally in 2005 and since then it has sold 2.5 lakh units in more than 60 nations.
