Hyundai Launches New Verna CX Variant, Priced At Rs. 8.07 Lakhs

Hyundai India has launched a new CX variant on the Verna, apart from reshuffling the entire variant lineup of the car. The new CX variant has been launched to take on the all-new Honda City in the segment. Honda also commenced production of petrol models of the City recently and Hyundai would not want to give up its pole position in terms of volumes. Hyundai has also deleted certain variants from the lineup.

The Verna CX will be offered in petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.4-litre petrol and the 1.4-litre diesel engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Hyundai has packed several features on the CX variant which include electro-chromatic rear view mirror, steering mounted audio controls, automatic climate control and power folding mirrors. The car is packed in with safety options like rear disc brakes, ABS and a driver side airbag. The CX variant will be offered with diamond cut alloy wheels as standard.

Hyundai has now discontinued the Verna 1.4 EX petrol and the 1.4 EX diesel variants from the lineup. The 1.4 and 1.6 Automatic (AT) trims have also been discontinued. The automatic version is now available on the mid-level 1.6 petrol SX AT and the 1.6 diesel SX AT trims, whereas the SX (O) AT variant has now been discontinued. There has been no change in the mechanicals on either of the models.

Hyundai has added the top-end 1.6 SX (O) variant with speed-sensing door locking, side and curtain airbags, projector headlights, daytime running lamps and automatic headlight control. You also get 16-inch alloy wheels and a chilled glove box. The Hyundai Verna CX is priced at Rs. 8.07 lakhs for the 1.4 petrol trim, while the 1.4 diesel starts at Rs. 9.28 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
