The high-selling Renault Kwid has 60% of its sales coming from 1.0-litre variants.

Renault Kwid 1.0-Litre Test Drive
The 1.0-litre engine was introduced in August 2016

Renault had launched the Kwid in India in 2015 and initially the vehicle was offered with only the 800cc petrol engine. The hatchback received a good response from buyers and the French automaker introduced the 1.0-litre petrol engine in August 2016, followed by the AMT gearbox towards the end of 2016.

It has now been learnt that the 1.0-litre variants account for as many as 60% (MT and AMT included) sales for the Kwid. The AMT gearbox is offered with only the 1.0-litre engine and the AMT variants account for 30% sales of the Kwid. This shows that the introduction of newer variants has worked well for Renault.

The Renault Kwid fetches sales of close to 10,000 units every month. The Kwid Climber Edition was introduced recently and it is offered with the 1.0-litre engine with both MT and AMT options. The Renault Kwid Climber Edition is expected to give a boost to the sales numbers too.

– The Renault Kwid is offered with 800cc and 1.0-litre petrol engines
