The second generation XUV500 will come with a completely new styling

Mahindra is testing the second generation XUV500. MotorBeamer Gokul Raj has spotted the prototype revealing interior details of the new SUV.

The dashboard looks very similar to the Kia Seltos. It gets a single cluster integrating the touchscreen and instrument cluster in one panel. The touchscreen infotainment system looks huge in size.

The AC vents are now positioned under the screen unlike the current XUV500’s side by side positioning. There is a new flat-bottom steering wheel design which looks less bulky and gets integrated controls.

The instrument cluster is expected to be a semi-digital unit with new colours. You can also notice the flush door handles in the spy shot which looks inspired by the Jaguar F-Type.

We can expect the Indian carmaker to offer the latest tech with the new gen Mahindra XUV500. It will be offered with a BS6 compliant 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 180 BHP. It will be paired to 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options.

The second generation Mahindra XUV500 will compete directly against the new Tata Gravitas. The new XUV500 is expected to launch during the festive season of 2020.
