2015 Maruti Swift Facelift Completely Spied, Features Revealed

The Maruti Swift facelift launch is just around the corner. Changes include – new bumper with L-shaped inserts, new alloys, keyless push button engine start, reverse parking sensors and electrically adjustable ORVMS.

Everyone knows that the Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift is around the corner. All its competitors, i.e. the Volkswagen Polo, Fiat Punto Evo and the Hyundai Elite i20 have received major updates very recently. After seeing rivals, it was clear that the Swift didn’t look like much of a value-for-money proposition now. It is sparsely loaded and build quality is average as compared to rivals. Maruti will now launch an updated version of this segment-leading premium hatchback bang during the festive season.

First up, the Swift gets minor but noticeable changes to the exteriors. The front bumper is redesigned and the new fog lamp housings come with L-shaped silver inserts (no daytime LEDs for the Indian model). Apart from this, the alloy wheels also feature a striking new design. The Swift now gets keyless engine start-stop system, one-touch up down power window for the driver, an updated multimedia system, reverse parking sensors and electrically adjustable ORVMs. The addition of these features is a good move but the Swift still isn’t the most loaded car in the segment.

There will not be any mechanical changes to the Swift and it will continue to draw power from the same 1.2-litre K-series petrol engine giving out 86 BHP of power and 114 Nm of torque and the famed 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine giving out 74 BHP of power and 190 Nm of torque. Both the engines get a 5-speed manual transmission but Maruti will now introduce an automatic variant with the updated Swift. The Maruti Swift is currently priced between Rs. 4.66 to 7.02 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). We can expect prices to go up by Rs. 10-15,000/- when the facelift is launched.
