The BMW S1000RR has gone on sale in India at the German automakers dealerships in Mumbai and Bangalore. Priced at Rs. 20 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai), the S1000RR looks the part in person. It has amazing presence and can distract people from even looking at a Rolls-Royce Phantom. The particular bike was set for delivery the day we snapped it. The BMW S1000RR has received the many bike of the year awards in 2010. It has also received the fastest bike award for cracking 300 kmph and out running its key rivals, the Suzuki Hayabusa and Kawasaki ZZ 1400RR. The S1000RR will accelerate to 100 kmph in just 2.9 seconds and features an anti-lock braking system, along with electronic traction control to ensure a smoothe power delivery. With an overall wet weight of just 207.7 kg, the bike is able to successfully use its 179.2 hp of power at 13250 RPM.
