Maruti Suzuki has sold 10 lakh units of the Wagon R in India. The Wagon R was launched in 1999 and has taken 12 years to reach this sales milestone. It is also the second highest selling car in the country, after the Alto. The fourth car in Maruti Suzuki’s portfolio to achieve this feat, the 800, Omni and Alto are the other three which have also sold more than 10 lakh units.

“It is a very proud moment for us and it gives more happiness because this milestone has been achieved in the domestic market,” Maruti Suzuki India, Chief General Manager (Marketing), Shashank Srivastava said. “With the launch of the new WagonR, sales have grown for the model. At present we are selling about 15,000 units per month,” Srivastava added.
